Meet Dr. Jon King
“Dentistry to me has always been about helping my clients. The day I decided I wanted to be a dentist was the day my dad, Dr. Jim King, fixed a front tooth I broke while at work. For the first time, I got to see another side of what being a dentist is all about. The fact that we can now help people with a problem that they have been suffering with for many years is very exciting to me. It also fits so well with our philosophy of practice that we have had in place for so many years. We believe in the overall health of the chewing system, and now we also have the ability to directly treat the muscles of this system with the TruDenta® therapy” – Dr. Jon King
Education and Experience
Dr. Jon King was born and raised in Santa Barbara and graduated from Dos Pueblos High School and the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation from UCSB, Dr. Jon attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Dentistry, where he served as class president during his junior and senior years. After dental school, Dr. Jon practiced dentistry for eight years in the U.S. Air Force including stations at Offutt AFB, NE; Eielson AFB, AK; and Nellis AFB, NV.
While at Nellis, Dr. Jon served as Chief of General Dentistry directing a team of seven dentists and eight assistants. At Eielson AFB, he served as the President of the Company Grade Officers Committee directing 25 Company Grade Officers in multiple community service projects. Dr. Jon served as the Preventive Dentistry Officer while in the Air Force and authored several articles for the local base paper. Dr. Jon currently serves in the Air Force Reserves at March Air Reserve Base as the Officer in Charge of the Dental Section.
Dr. Jon is committed to dental health for patients and has amassed over 300 hours of post-graduate continuing dental education. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, an organization that stresses continuing education for its membership, and is currently completing Fellowship with the Academy.

Outside the Office
A native of Santa Barbara, Dr. Jon has been married since 1992 to his high school sweetheart, Kristin. They have three wonderful children, Elleney, Adam, and Justina, as well as a Golden Retriever named Maxwell. When he is not at work, Dr. Jon loves spending time with his family. This usually includes either watching his kids play sports, coaching his son’s football and baseball teams, or playing some sort of sport with them.
